There are seasons in life when everything quietly shifts—when the soil of your days is being turned over for something new to grow. Over this past year, Matthew and I have been living in one of those tender seasons.
In July, we joyfully welcomed our first baby into the world.
Because our pregnancy journey didn’t unfold the way we expected, I stepped back from YouTube and this blog for a while. I needed that space to soak in every moment and to prepare my heart for what was to come.
Now that our little one is here, I feel ready to return and share again. This blog has always followed the rhythms of my life, and I’ve always seen it as a place to invite you in—into our homemaking, our start in homesteading, and now, this new and sweet chapter: motherhood.
A New Season of Motherhood and Homemaking
I’ll be going back and sharing parts of our pregnancy journey—things like our nursery design, my holistic baby registry, and faith-based reflections from those months of waiting. But my hope is that this space will remain what it’s always been: a gentle and honest reflection of our life.
I’ll still be writing and filming about our homemaking projects, our mission to get out of debt and one day own a homestead, the daily rhythms that keep our home running, and the ways we’re learning to live slow and intentional in a fast-paced world. All of those things matter so much to me—and in many ways, they matter even more now that we’re raising a child.
Trisomy 21: A Tender Thread in Our Pregnancy Journey
Another tender part of our story is that our baby boy was born with Down syndrome. It was first suspected during pregnancy and walking through that season was both heavy and refining. Yet through it all, we’ve chosen to keep moving forward in faith and even joy.
I plan to share pieces of that journey here and on YouTube—not as the focus of everything I create, but as another thread woven into our lives. Our little boy is so deeply loved, and we believe with all our hearts that his life is wonderfully and perfectly made.
Thank you for being here—for caring about the slow, ordinary, beautiful work of our home and family. If you’ve walked through a similar pregnancy diagnosis, motherhood journey, or faith-filled season of waiting, I’d love to connect. Leave a comment below or subscribe over on YouTube to follow along as I share more.
I can’t wait to share this new season with you!
